Case Study: Dementia Friendly Outpatients Department at Darlington Hospital

Working with the Interiors team at Howarth Litchfield Partnership, Picto recently completed wayfinding and display graphics as part of a dementia friendly refurbishment at Darlington Memorial Hospital outpatients department.

The ground breaking scheme focuses on the use of colour, language and large scale tactile graphics following feedback led by the Alzheimer’s Society and research carried out by Stirling University.  The project was funded as part of a £3.9m Government grant allocated to the North East to make environments more accessible for those living with dementia.
